Bidhaa Sasa

Rocío Pérez Ochoa is the cofounder of Bidhaa Sasa, a distribution and finance company serving rural women in Kenya and Uganda. Through a social network of women Bidhaa Sasa makes climate-smart technologies more affordable and accessible.

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, she set up and ran the financial arm of BBOXX, a manufacturer and distributor of solar systems, worked for the UK Government as climate change adviser and spent almost a decade in the City of London working in hedge funds. She earned a Master in Environmental Technologies from Imperial College London and a PhD in Particle Physics from the University of Valencia while working at CERN.
