Dr. Peter Gauis-Obaseki is a Partner at McKinsey’s Lagos office and leads McKinsey’s Oil & Gas practice in Africa. Peter has more than a decade of energy sector experience where he serves leaders in multinationals, public and private across a variety of markets including Nigeria, South Africa, Angola, the United Kingdom, Australia, Indonesia, and Singapore.
Peter counts it a privilege to have NOCs, IOCs, and Independents as clients and has advised across upstream, midstream, and downstream value chain assets, with a focus on strategy, operating model effectiveness, performance improvement, portfolio optimization, and the energy transition.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Peter worked as a development specialist at the World Bank in the United States, leading various projects across South Asia, the Middle East as well as East and Southern Africa.
He has graduate degrees from INSEAD, Harvard University, and the University of Ibadan.
