From Strategic Alignment to Execution: APPO Secretary General Leads High-Level Delegation Visit to ARDA in Abidjan
Côte d’Ivoire – ARDA was pleased to welcome the APPO Secretary General, H.E. Mr Farid Ghezali, and a high-level APPO delegation to its headquarters in Abidjan for continued strategic discussions on advancing the Memorandum of Understanding signed between ARDA and APPO on the sidelines of ARDA Week in April.
The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of both organisations to move from agreement to action, with focused discussions on priority areas where ARDA and APPO can work together to unlock long-term value for Africa’s energy sector.
While details of the joint workstreams will be communicated in due course, the engagement reflected a clear ambition: to translate institutional alignment into practical initiatives that support a more integrated, resilient and competitive African downstream industry.
“This visit reflects APPO’s commitment to deepening cooperation with ARDA and ensuring that our shared objectives are translated into tangible outcomes for Africa’s energy future,” said H.E. Mr Farid Ghezali, Secretary General of APPO.
The APPO Secretary General and delegation were also warmly received by ARDA President Mme. Marie-Josephine Sidibé, who welcomed the visit as an important signal of the growing institutional partnership between APPO and ARDA.
“We are honoured to host the APPO Secretary General and delegation in Abidjan. Our discussions mark another important step in shaping a practical collaboration agenda that can create lasting value for our members and the wider African energy ecosystem,” said Anibor Kragha, Executive Secretary of ARDA.
More details on the ARDA-APPO collaboration will follow as both organisations continue to progress the MoU implementation framework.
