In Angola, refining activities have been carried out since 1958, when the first facilities for Refining Crude Oil were inaugurated. Fast forward to the present, Sonangol Refining & Petrochemical Unit, which is the subsidiary of Sonangol ( The National Oil & Gas Comapny) responsible for refining crude oil, has been striving to meet the growing domestic and regional demand, increasing value by increasing its total refining capacity, developing three new refinery projects in the Provinces of Lobito, Cabinda and Zaire for the Soyo Refinery for a total refining output of 425.000 bbl/day from the current 65.000bbl/day. Such endeavors aim to generate social and economic growth within the country and job creation for the communities. The recent completion of the new complex unit which was the expansion project of the gasoline refining capacity at the Luanda Refinery, agreed between Sonangol and Azule Energy became a fact with its inauguration on July 7, 2022, offering more than 4000.000 MT/year of Gasoline to the domestic market, setting the tone for the other refining projects currently being developed.

En Angola, les activités de raffinage sont menées depuis 1958, date à laquelle les premières installations de raffinage du pétrole brut ont été inaugurées. Aujourd’hui, Sonangol Refining & Petrochemical Unit, qui est la filiale de Sonangol (The National Oil & Gas Comapny) responsable du raffinage du pétrole brut, s’efforce de répondre à la demande nationale et régionale croissante, augmentant la valeur en augmentant sa capacité de raffinage, en développant trois nouveaux projets de raffinerie dans les provinces de Lobito, Cabinda et Zaïre pour la raffinerie de Soyo pour une production totale de raffinage de 425 000 bbl/jour à partir des 65 000 bbl/jour actuels. Ces efforts visent à générer une croissance sociale et économique dans le pays et la création d’emplois pour les communautés. Le 7 juillet 2022 a été inauguré une nouvelle unité complexe issue du projet d’expension de la capacité de raffinnage d’essence à la raffinerie de Luanda convenu entre Sonangol et Azule Energy. Ce projet offre plus de 4000.000 MT/an d’essence au marché domestique, donne le ton aux autres projets de raffinage en cours de développement.
