Momoh–Jimah Oyarekhua is a prominent Nigerian entrepreneur and industrialist in the oil and gas sector, known for enhancing local refining capabilities and petroleum infrastructure in Nigeria. With over 30 years of experience, he has established himself as a visionary investor committed to adding local value throughout the hydrocarbons value chain. He founded OMSA Integrated Services Limited, which specializes in oilfield and marine logistics, and has made OMSA a key player in West Africa’s marine fuel market. Oyarekhua has expanded his interests in the energy sector, including upstream ventures like Ruta Exploration & Production Company, moving towards a fully integrated oil and gas model.

A notable advocate for modular refining, he chairs OPAC Refineries and has developed a modular refinery in Kwale, Delta State, to bolster Nigeria’s refining capacity and decrease dependence on imported fuels. His initiatives align with national goals of energy security and industrialization. He also serves as Chairman of the Crude Oil Refinery Owners Association of Nigeria (CORAN), engaging with regulators to foster a conducive environment for local refining and investment. His leadership extends to other associations, including the Bunker Traders Association of Nigeria and the International Bunker Industry Association.

With a background in mechanical engineering and executive education from institutions like Harvard Business School, Oyarekhua merges technical expertise with strategic business insight. His leadership is characterized by a focus on sustainable value creation and long-term investments. Recognized as a key player in Nigeria’s energy transition, he works towards transforming the country from a net importer to a refining hub, significantly impacting the future of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and promoting energy self-sufficiency across Africa.
