Dr. AbdulWasiu Sowami is a seasoned energy investor, operator, and entrepreneur with close to three decades of experience developing and scaling integrated platforms across energy, infrastructure, and international trade.

He serves as Group Executive Chairman of Ardova Plc and Prudent Energy Group, overseeing one of Nigeria’s most diverse energy platforms. The Group’s operations include trading, storage, distribution, retail, logistics, and renewable energy, providing value across the entire energy value chain.

Under his guidance, Ardova has transformed into a vertically integrated organization, with a $500 million terminal in Lagos and a strong national distribution network. The platform leverages significant scale comprising over 700 retail outlets and a logistics fleet of more than 600 trucks, which is complemented by strategic infrastructure across LPG, marine, aviation fuel, and lubricants, alongside selective upstream investments.

Dr. Sowami has built long-term relationships with prominent global energy companies and international trading houses, establishing Ardova as a reliable counterparty and strategic gateway to the Nigerian market. His leadership philosophy focuses on disciplined capital allocation, operational excellence, and the creation of durable, scalable firms in high-growth markets. He continues to promote strategic expansion in the LPG, midstream, power, and renewable energy sectors.

Beyond energy, Dr. Sowami invests in export-oriented agribusiness, supporting Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda. He also serves as Chairman of the Abdul-Lateef and Sanni Foundation, which promotes initiatives that expand access to education and economic opportunities.
