Ms Mathilde Tannous

ACT-SAF Technical Consultant

International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO)

Mathilde holds a master’s degree in environmental Hygiene and Safety. She began her career at Signature Flight Support, the world’s leading provider of business aviation services, where she worked for six years as HSE Manager for the EMEA region. In this role, she managed health, safety, and environmental issues across multiple sites in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with a focus on technical operations such as fueling and ground handling.

Wishing to move toward the energy transition, she joined the General Directorate for Energy and Climate at the Ministry of Ecological Transition in 2016. There, she led the transposition of the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Directive into national law and contributed to the revision of the Renewable Energy Directive. She notably oversaw the energy component of the feasibility study that initiated France’s momentum on Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF).

In 2020, she joined the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) as SAF Program Manager, actively supporting SAF development and deployment at the national, European, and international levels. She also contributed to the implementation of the European Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), directly related to aviation decarbonization efforts.

She is currently working at ICAO as a Technical Consultant for the ACT-SAF program, where she draws on her cross-sector experience—spanning both public and private domains—to support States in developing robust and sustainable SAF strategies.
