He has over 15 years of experience in the energy industry and has served clients across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. Achraf has supported clients globally in developing HR strategies as part of client's overall growth programs. He has deep expertise in Africa downstream sector supporting refiners around the continent build their assets and human capital.
Relevant experience
- 15+ years’ experience in Refining Strategy and Operations with a focus on decarbonization, green businesses and ESG topics across Europe, Middle East, and Latin America
- Developed HR strategies for leading O&G companies starting from skills mapping up to the development of training and hiring plans
- Supported different clients across the development of Brownfield and Greenfield projects
- Created an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy for a Middle Eastern O&G company, setting ESG targets, developing associated initiatives, and establishing an ESG department
- Led a net zero decarbonization program and strategic evaluation of new low-carbon businesses for a refining company in Europe, including synergies with a digitalization strategy for the industrial site
- Developed the strategic plan for a refining conglomerate to drive enterprise-wide transformation through a comprehensive 5-year performance improvement program
- Developed strategy for comprehensive Performance Improvement program with +40 initiatives and +200M$ across 2 refineries for Middle Eastern O&G conglomerate
- Experience on several margin improvement projects with NOCs and IOC companies
- Strategy experience within BCG on key subjects like IMO 2020 regulation
Education & Prior experience
- Process and energy Engineer Degree and Master from Mines de Saint-Etienne engineering school
- Master of Science in Petroleum, Engineering and Gas by French Institute of Petroleum
