Equinor is an international energy company present in more than 30 countries worldwide, including several of the world’s most important petroleum provinces. Founded in 1972 as Norway’s national oil company we changed our name from Statoil to Equinor in 2018.
Equinor is the leading operator in Norway and our total equity production is around 2,2 mboe/day. We operate globally in the entire value chain with exploration, development and production of oil and gas, as well as wind and solar power. We are one of the world’s largest net exporters of crude and a major supplier of natural gas. Equinor has operations in Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania.
Equinor has been trading in crude, refined products and LNG in Africa since 1991. We have recognized proven reserves of 364 mboe/day in 31 fields in West and North Africa. Backed with these production volumes we also trade third-party volumes, using our large and flexible shipping portfolio, storages and terminals to supply customers globally with the sizes and qualities that they need.
Our success has been possible due to our commitment to creating lasting value and sustainable value chains. Our ability to achieve this is dependent upon applying high ethical standards to create a trust-based relationship with our people, our owners, our business partners, and our communities.
